Flex is fine.
Yes, it has some problems. The Eucalyptus Steam room has been "out of order" going on 2 years now, and the 2nd floor shower *always* has two inches of standing water, but it's not all bad. I'm glad they ripped out the old carpets and went with bare floors. Now they can actually clean the floors. What a concept. There is a nice glory hole area they added upstairs. The giant steam maze could have better drainage. I don't like standing water. On occasion it gets too damn hot, but most of the time it's OK. They regularly have complimentary snacks, but I never seem to be there at the right time for that. The "cabana rooms" are uncomfotlrtably small. I can't even fit on the bench/bed in those rooms. But for $30 you can get a "quiet room" that has a regular sized mattress and fits two guys. There is no blaring disco music in this section of the bath house. They have discount lockers on Mondays
Foul stench of old man stank
That's a provocative title, but it's true. I've haven't been here for months, but that's my best recollection. It stunk, like a comination of stale man stink, poopers, and b o. Not my idea of a good time.
Athletes foot
I got athletes foot after walking in the place. Didnt even use the showers. The smell was beyond belief in the "play area." The bathouse equivalent of a ghetto McDonalds mens room.
Pure bewilderment
As I had the pleasure of spending five years living in San Diego, I've seen truly fun bathhouses. There are a couple of baths in LA that seem an updated version of 70s raunchy hedonistic "pleasure palaces." Compare those to Flex Cleveland, and you will be sorry. There is a Flex in LA (I don't know if its part of the same chain), but that Flex is much much better. Cleveland's Flex is in a rundown sector of warehouses and garages. The street at night looks scary and creepy. Inside, it's only marginally better. There are simply no hot men here. If old is your definition of hot, then I guess they are hot. Otherwise, skip it. One guy kept calling after me, calling me "young sir"- that wasn't hot, just weird. I thought i had developed a stalker or something. I left before finding out. Yes, skip this place.
