A Man's World Complex (Closed Permanently)

Not that bad

Was pleasantly surprised. Notices a couple of boys who could have been hustlers but nobody harassed us. Men were not quite the friendly sort I would have expected in a popular dive but so it goes. The bartender left much to be desired. He only talked to his friends (I guess) at the corner of the bar and made no attempt at conversation with most of the guys sitting at the bar. Except for the lame disco music emanating from the video jukebox (its 2011 people why disco!?) the atmosphere was sort of cool. Much nicer environemnt than the Hawk and livelier than Cocktails. Would give it a second visit.

used to be a good bar

As a long time regular customer of 10 years this bar has gone down hill fast.The owner doesn't care and is cheap,street trash hustlers and drugs on the patio.No one rally goes here anymore I was there last Friday nite and there was 20 people in the bar at 1am.This bar used to be fun and an enjoyable place to hang out and was always packed.They were just recently raided by Cleveland Vice Cops for a major liquor violation.The owner doesn't care if you get robbed or your car broken into (one nite my partners car was broken into and it was parked in front of the bar on Detroit Ave.)This bar is on it's last legs and it's sad.I don't recomend this bar at all the LSS,Cocktails and Hawk are better.There are nice people at this bar and not all men are trailer trash.It is not by far a leather bar,there are loud obnoctious queens there now that don't know how to act as well as fights happen in this bar sometimes too.It is really too bad as it's a real mans bar for real men and now is turned into complete trash if you want drugs or hustlers go here I don't anymore haven't been here in six months and won't go back.I do have fond memories of when it was a fun good bar.

Good place, real people

There is a lot being said on here that is just BS. AMW complex has been a staple in the cleveland area for decades. The bars in Cleveland are very clickish. If they don't know you in other bars you will probably stand by youself all night. At AMW everyone is welcome. You can come in your overalls after work or in a suit, everyone is treated the same. For the person below that is only going out to see "hot" men..to bad we can't see you and judge you. Your right, you don't fit in at AMW, judgement and needing to meet a criteria for entrance isn't what this place is about. If you want a friendly neighborhood bar and not the pretty boy stand & pose attitude places..stop on in.
